At Mercedes Club, these principles are exemplified by the leadership of General Manager Tonya Jacobs, Assistant General Manager and Instructor Lisa Gausepohl, and Sales & Operations Manager Gustavo "G." Tonya brings over two decades of experience in luxury sports and fitness management to her role as General Manager at Mercedes Club. She began dancing professionally and touring internationally before becoming a group exercise instructor in New York City. Tonya studied business operations in the fitness industry under industry leaders. Earlier in her career she held leadership roles at Reebok Sports Club / NY and Sports Club / LA. Tonya's dedication to service, wellness, and inclusion has made Mercedes Club Manhattan's premier health and fitness destination. She believes in delivering excellence in Member service, employee relations and facility aesthetics.
Assistant General Manager and Instructor, Lisa began her fitness career in 1981 at The Vertical Club, New York City's first luxury health club. She began leading group exercise classes with over 100 participants and found her calling for both instructing and managing. This experience led to Lisa managing group exercise programs at Equinox Fitness clubs and Reebok Sports Club-NY. Since joining Mercedes Club in 2015, Lisa leads the Group Exercise Team, and designs all group exercise programming to deliver a great Member experience. She develops teams of passionate individuals who come together to provide outstanding customer service.
Sales and Operations Manager Gustavo Rueda, known as "G," has been with Mercedes Club since day one. From two decades of industry experience, G has learned how to build real relationships with Members and staff. Growing up in New York City gives him a relatable perspective on the role. G manages the personal training department and is responsible for all aspects of membership sales. He is committed to providing top service and he believes kindness creates an environment that makes Mercedes Club unique.
Tonya, Lisa and G are the definition of effective management and warm hospitality. Together they ensure Mercedes Club always meets and exceeds Member expectations - in a setting where health, wellness and personal connections thrive.
